In NO TIME TO DIE, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. Wishing Daniel a speedy recovery!

THE SUN – The super-spy actor, 51, slipped while running in his trademark suit for the new 007 blockbuster and had to be flown to the US for X-rays – holding up production.

Hollywood star Craig is said to have been examined by the same surgeon who treated England football ace Harry Kane earlier this year.

A source told The Sun that the performer – who insists on doing nearly all of his own stunts – flew into a frustrated rage after the tumble.

They said: “Daniel was suited and booted for one of the last scenes in Jamaica.

“He was sprinting during filming when he slipped and fell quite awkwardly.

“He was in quite a lot of pain and was complaining about his ankle.

“As you’d expect he was also pretty angry that it had happened. He threw his suit jacket on the ground in sheer frustration.”

Bosses are hoping production will not be held up for long.

But The Sun understands that filming at Pinewood Studios in London, scheduled for this coming weekend, has been cancelled as a result of Craig’s knock.

VARIETY – The town of 60,000 people will provide the setting for what is expected to become “Bond 25’s” prologue action sequence, similar to “Spectre’s” opening segment in Mexico City during Day of the Dead celebrations, insiders say. Preparations to accommodate an estimated 500 production people for the shoot, which is expected to take place in late July, are already underway. Matera’s prehistoric whitewashed caves also provided the backdrops for the Jerusalem set of Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of the Christ.”

Italy has been featured frequently in the Bond franchise, most recently in “Spectre,” which boasted a high-speed chase along the river Tiber in Rome, among other scenes. The opening scene of “Quantum of Solace” started with a car chase along Lake Garda and then segued to Siena during the Palio horse race.

Line producer Enzo Sisti, who is handling the Italian leg of the “Bond 25” shoot, confirmed that a “big production is coming to Matera” but declined to confirm that it is the next, as-yet-untitled Bond outing. Eon Productions, which is producing “Bond 25” with MGM, did not respond to a request for comment.
